Powerscourt Gardens
Powerscourt Gardens

The gardens at Powerscourt feature several different types of layout, some with international themes. There is the walled garden, a rose garden, the Japanese gardens, a pebble mosaic, the Italian garden and even a golf club and driving range. For those interested in gardening, there is a nursery on the estate which sells plants, containers, books and gifts. There are also several lakes and ponds including Triton Lake, which features a reproduction of the Italian master Bernini’s original sculpture of this deity which is found in Rome. Overlooking the pond is a pair of magnificent Pegasi, the Wingfield family emblem. The Dolphin pond was created in the 18th century as a fish pond and can be found opposite the Japanese garden. The gardens also feature the highest waterfall in Ireland, which stretches about 425 feet.
