Christ Church bell tower, Dublin

Christ Church Cathedral, officially the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity but more commonly known as Christ Church in Dublin is the older of the city's two medieval cathedrals (the other is St. Patrick's Cathedral). This is the seat of both the Church of Ireland and Roman Catholic archbishops of Dublin . Proximate to Wood Quay, the church is located at the end of Dame Street. The maze of lanes full of medieval buildings which once surrounded the cathedral were torn down when the roads were widened for two way streets and Christ Church was left standing. This unique building stands out among the newer structures surrounding it by Woods Quay.
